This mineral supplement contains 250 mg of magnesium oxide, which corresponds to 150.7 mg of magnesium ions.The following excipients are also included: microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, macrogol, magnesium stearate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polyoxyethylene monostearate, 6.2 mmol total magnesium ions and 1 mmol total sodium ions.

Area of application

The medicine is used in cases of magnesium deficiency, especially if this leads to disorders of muscle activity such as neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose for adults is one capsule each morning and evening, which corresponds to a total daily dose of 301.6 mg magnesium ions.Magnesium must not be taken if kidney function is severely impaired.

If you have taken a larger amount than intended, no special measures are necessary if your kidney function is intact, as excess magnesium is excreted via the kidneys.If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Intake

The capsules should be taken with plenty of liquid shortly before meals.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to magnesium oxide or any of the other ingredients or if you have severe kidney dysfunction.

Patient information

Other

Soft stools can be the result of taking high doses of magnesium.If disruptive diarrhea occurs, the daily dose should be reduced.If you consume higher amounts of magnesium over a longer period of time, regular checks of the magnesium levels in the blood should be carried out, especially if you have impaired kidney function.
