Cutimed Sorbact Gel is a hydrogel-soaked wound dressing that cleanses the wound of plaque and necrotic tissue.This is done through autolytic debridement, which reduces the number of bacteria in the wound.The principle of hydrophobic interaction plays a crucial role.The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong water-repellent properties.Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact tissue.With each dressing change, the number of germs in the wound is reduced, which creates optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process.

Areas of application

Cutimed Sorbact Gel is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds and is used for dry to slightly exuding wounds.These include chronic wounds such as venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers.Postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences, traumatic wounds and wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses can also be treated.

Change of dressing

The dressing change depends on the amount of exudate and the overall condition of the wound and the wound surroundings and can take up to 7 days if the clinical condition allows it.
