Calcigen D Forte 1000 mg/880 I.U. Effervescent tablets are a medicine used to treat combined vitamin D and calcium deficiency. The active substance calcium is important for bone formation and vitamin D3 improves the absorption of calcium from the intestine. The effervescent tablets are taken twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening. However, pregnant women should only take one tablet a day. There are some side effects such as nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, skin rash and itching. In rare cases, serious allergic reactions may occur.
