Directions for use of the article Berberis/Quartz Globules: Berberis/Quartz Globules are an anthroposophical medicine used to harmonise the interaction of the sensory and vital organisation in the restorative metabolism. It is mainly used in the head region to treat constitutional, chronic and acute inflammatory swellings of the mucous membranes in the upper airways and sinuses as well as enlarged pharyngeal tonsils (adenoids). The application is done by dissolving the globules under the tongue. The composition of the globules contains sucrose and lactose. There are no known contraindications. However, in case of fever, shortness of breath, purulent or bloody sputum or persistent, unclear or newly occurring complaints, a doctor should be consulted. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using Berberis/Quartz. People with an intolerance to certain sugars should also consult their doctor before taking it. There are no known interactions with other medicines. The recommended dosage varies according to age. Babies should take 3 globules 1-3 times a day, children under 6 years 3-7 globules 1-3 times a day and adults and children over 6 years 5-10 globules 1-3 times a day. For infants, the globules can be dissolved in water or unsweetened tea before administration. Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks, otherwise a doctor should be consulted. For chronic diseases, the duration of treatment should be discussed with a doctor. No side effects are known. However, if side effects occur, a doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional should be contacted. The medicinal product should not be used after the expiry date and has a shelf life of 26 weeks after opening. Berberis/Quartz globules are manufactured by WALA Heilmittel GmbH and can be purchased in household quantities.
