The product Ginkobil ratiopharm 240 mg contains an extract of ginkgo leaves and is used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia. The recommended dose for adults is one film-coated tablet once a day, taken unchewed with sufficient liquid. The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks and after 3 months the continuation of treatment should be reviewed by a doctor. The product is almost "sodium free" and contains lactose. Side effects such as headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal discomfort and skin reactions may occur. The medicine should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients, in case of increased bleeding tendency, epilepsy or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
