GINKOBIL ratiopharm 240mg is taken orally. The film-coated tablets should preferably be taken unchewed with a glass of water. They can be taken independently of meals. The exact dosage and duration of treatment should always be determined in consultation with a doctor or pharmacist. The duration of treatment is usually at least 8 weeks. After 3 months, a doctor should check whether it is still necessary to continue the treatment. The use is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. There are no specific dosage recommendations in cases of kidney or liver dysfunction. In case of an overdose, side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, headache and allergic skin reactions may occur. If a dose is forgotten, the next dose should be taken at the regular time instead of taking twice the amount. GINKOBIL ratiopharm 240 mg should be stored out of the reach of children and the expiry date should be observed. The effect of the medicine is based on an extract from ginkgo leaves, which promotes blood circulation and can thus improve mental abilities. Side effects may occur such as headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal complaints, diarrhoea, lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The product should not be used in case of allergy to the ingredients or certain diseases such as increased bleeding tendency or epilepsy. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also not use it. Care should be taken if you have an allergy to binders or an intolerance to lactose. There may also be interactions with other medicines. The exact dosage may differ from the package leaflet and should therefore be discussed with a doctor.
