Agnus castus STADA® contains chaste mud fruit dry extract as the active ingredient.One film-coated tablet contains 4 mg dry extract from chaste mud fruits (7-13:1), with ethanol 60% (m/m) serving as the extractant.

The other ingredients are carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A) (Ph.Eur.), microcrystalline cellulose, glucose syrup, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 4000, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), corn starch, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide (E171), iron (III) oxide (E172).

Note for diabetics: One film-coated tablet contains 0.16 g of carbohydrates (glucose syrup, lactose monohydrate).

Contraindications

The preparation must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to chaste mud fruit extracts, if you have pituitary tumors (tumors of the pituitary gland) or if you have mammary carcinoma (breast cancer).

Dosage

Always take the product exactly as directed.Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the recommended dose is 1 film-coated tablet once a day.Agnus castus STADA® should, if possible, always be taken at the same time of day.The score line is only used to divide the tablet to make it easier to swallow and not to divide it into equal doses.

For a reliable effect, Agnus castus STADA® should be taken over at least 3 monthly cycles.

Pregnancy

Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Because there have been insufficient studies, the medicine must not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.In animal experiments, an impairment of milk production was seen after ingesting chaste mud.
