Prospan Cough Lozenges are a herbal medicinal product used to improve the symptoms of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases and colds of the respiratory tract. The pastilles contain dry ivy leaf extract and work by loosening solid mucus and making it easier to cough up. They relieve the irritation of the cough and fight the inflammation. The recommended dosage is one lozenge 4 times a day for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over. Children aged 6-12 years should take one lozenge 2 times a day. The duration of use should be one week. Side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints and allergic reactions. The medicine should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also not take it. The cough lozenges are manufactured by Engelhard Arzneimittel.
