Calcivit D chewable tablets are used to treat combined vitamin D and calcium deficiency in elderly patients and as a supplement to specific osteoporosis treatment. It contains the active ingredients calcium carbonate and colecalciferol. The chewable tablets should be chewed or sucked and can be taken with liquid. The recommended dose for adults is 1 chewable tablet 1-2 times a day. It is important to monitor blood calcium levels and check kidney function regularly. Possible side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort and skin reactions. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking the medicine.
