About the CONTOUR XT blood glucose monitoring system

The CONTOUR XT blood glucose measuring system is specially designed for self-monitoring of blood glucose by people with diabetes.It is suitable for measuring blood glucose levels in fresh fingerstick capillary whole blood, arterial and venous whole blood or newborn blood samples by healthcare professionals.The system measures glucose levels in whole blood in the range of 10 mg/dL to 600 mg/dL.

The CONTOUR XT blood glucose monitoring system supports individual diabetes management, but is not intended for the diagnosis or screening of diabetes mellitus.No prescription is required for this product.

Application and security

Before you carry out your first blood sugar measurement, please read the CONTOUR XToperating instructions, the lancing device package insert and all instructions for use included in the measuring device set completely.Carefully follow all use and care instructions to avoid inaccuracies in measurements.

Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water before each measurement and dry them well.Used sensors and lancets must be disposed of as medical waste to avoid potential infection risks.

The CONTOUR XT blood glucose monitoring system has the following technical characteristics: It is 77 x 57 x 19 mm, weighs 47.5 g and is available in silver.The display measures 40 x 30 mm.The measurement time is 5 seconds.The measuring range is between 10 and 600 mg/dl (0.6 to 33.3 mmol/l).The measuring principle is electrochemical and enzymatic (GDH-FAD).The device is plasma calibrated and requires 0.6 µl venous or capillary whole blood.The working temperature of the device is between 5°C and 45°C, and the relative humidity should be between 10 and 93.

The device can store up to 480 measurement results, including averages for 7, 14 and 30 days.The coding takes place automatically.The test strips are CONTOUR® NEXT test sensors.The device is powered by two 3-volt lithium batteries (type DL2032 or CR2032), which are sufficient for around 1,000 measurements (1 year with average use).
