Doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel 5% is an externally applicable gel for targeted pain relief. It is suitable for the treatment of swellings and inflammations of the soft tissues near the joints, such as the bursa, tendon sheaths, ligaments and joint capsule, as well as for sports and accident injuries such as bruises, sprains and strains. The gel contains the active ingredient ibuprofen, which has an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect. Thanks to a special micelle technology, the active ingredient quickly penetrates the tissue and unfolds its effect there. The gel accumulates in the inflamed tissue and forms a lasting depot of active ingredients. Ibuprofen pain gel is applied externally to the affected skin areas and should be used 3 times a day. Care should be taken not to apply the gel to open injuries or under airtight dressings. The application period is usually 2-3 weeks. The gel is well tolerated and does not dry out the skin. However, side effects such as skin redness, itching or burning may occur. The product is not suitable for children under 14 years of age. In case of pregnancy, breastfeeding, hypersensitivity to painkillers or certain ingredients as well as skin problems or other contraindications, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use. Ibuprofen pain gel is available without a prescription from pharmacies and can be used for targeted pain relief in cases of swelling and inflammation. It is also available as a dispenser cartridge for which the matching dispenser/base can be purchased separately.
