Directions for use of Diarrhoesan Juice Diarrhoesan juice is traditionally used for the supportive treatment of mild, acute diarrhoea. It is a traditional medicinal product that is registered for this area of application due to many years of use. The juice contains pectin from apples and chamomile flower fluid extract. Before taking Diarrhoesan Juice, certain points should be observed. The medicine must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients, compositae or other components of the juice. It is also not suitable for babies and small children under 2 years of age. Diarrhoea causes a loss of fluids and salts, which should be counteracted by replacing fluids and salts (electrolytes). If the symptoms worsen or do not improve after 2 days, a doctor should be consulted. A doctor should also be consulted if there are blood inclusions or an increase in temperature. There are no systematic studies on possible interactions of Diarrhoesan juice with other medicines. However, it cannot be ruled out that the absorption of simultaneously taken medicines in the stomach or intestines is reduced by the mode of action of the juice. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take Diarrhoesan juice. The dosage of Diarrhoesan juice depends on the age of the patient. The exact dosage and duration of use should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist. In case of overdose, medical advice should be sought and if the dose is forgotten, the next dose can be taken again as usual. Possible side effects of Diarrhoesan Juice are hypersensitivity reactions in the mouth and skin area. It is recommended to inform a doctor about any side effects that occur. Diarrhoesan Juice should be stored at room temperature and out of the reach of children. The expiry date of the medicinal product should be observed.
