Eubiol is used to treat acute diarrheal diseases.It can also be used to prevent and treat traveler's diarrhea and tube-feeding diarrhea.It is also used as an accompanying treatment for long-standing forms of acne.No prescription is required for this product.

The active ingredient in Eubiol is Saccharomyces cerevisiae dry yeast.One hard capsule contains 375 mg of dry yeast from Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926, which corresponds to at least 7.5 x 109 viable cells per hard capsule.The dry yeast is fluid-bed dried.The other ingredients are gelatin, purified water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, titanium dioxide and highly dispersed silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

Eubiol should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to individual ingredients.

Dosage

The recommended use of Eubiol varies depending on the area of application and age group.For acute diarrhea, children between 6 months and 2 years of age, as well as children over 2 years of age and adults, take 1 hard capsule once a day.For children under 2 years of age, treatment should only be carried out under medical supervision.To prevent traveler's diarrhea, children over 2 years of age and adults take 1 hard capsule once daily, starting 5 days before departure.For acne, children over 2 years and adults take 1 hard capsule twice a day.The application is not intended for children between 6 months and 2 years.

Intake

The hard capsules should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water.For children under 6 years of age, the hard capsule can be opened and the contents mixed with food or liquid at room temperature.In the case of diarrhea caused by tube feeding, the contents of the hard capsules are added to the tube feeding.

Patient information

Eubiol is not suitable for children under 6 months.

Pregnancy

You should always ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication.So far there is no evidence of risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding from using yeast as food.However, there are no experimental studies for Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926, so the drug should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

1. What Eubiol is and what it is used for?Eubiol contains dry yeast for oral use.Eubiol is used to treat the symptoms of acute diarrheal illnesses, to prevent and treat the symptoms of traveler's diarrhea and diarrhea during tube feeding and for the accompanying treatment of long-standing forms of acne.

2. What should you consider before taking Eubiol? Eubiol must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.If diarrhea lasts longer than 2 days or is accompanied by blood or an increase in temperature, a doctor should be consulted.If acne worsens or does not improve, a doctor should be consulted.

3. How to take EubiolAlways take Eubiol exactly as directed in this leaflet.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.The usual dose is: Children from two years of age and adults take 1 hard capsule once a day for acute diarrhea and, to prevent traveler's diarrhea, take 1 hard capsule once a day starting 5 days before departure, and 1 hard capsule twice a day for acne.For diarrhea caused by tube feeding, 750 mg (= contents of 2 hard capsules) dry yeast from Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926 in 1.5 liters of nutrient solution should be added once a day.The duration of use is not limited;However, if there is no improvement in symptoms or even worsening within 2 days, we strongly recommend that you consult a doctor.Treatment for diarrhea should be continued for a few days after the symptoms have subsided.As an accompanying treatment for chronic forms of acne, it is recommended to take it over several weeks.

4. What side effects are possible?Like all medicines, Eubiol can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Ingestion may cause flatulence.Hypersensitivity reactions in the form of itching, hives, skin rash, swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, shortness of breath and allergic shock can also occur.If you observe any of the above-mentioned side effects, especially swelling of the mucous membranes in the facial area, shortness of breath or signs of allergic shock, contact a doctor immediately.

5. How to store Eubiol?Store in the original packaging and not above 25°C to protect the contents from moisture.Store drug out of reach of children.You may no longer use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the outer carton or container after “Use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
