Information for use with the article "Osteo Plus Effervescent Tablets": Osteo Plus is a calcium and vitamin D3 preparation. It is used in adults for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis and in cases of proven calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency. The medicine contains lactose, sodium compounds, sucrose (sugar) and soya bean oil and is not suitable for children under 18 years of age. The recommended dose is 1 effervescent tablet daily, dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately. The medicine should be stored in a dry place and not above 25 °C. Do not dispose of the medicine in waste water. Read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist about risks and side effects. The medicinal product must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances, impaired kidney function, increased calcium levels, increased calcium excretion in the urine, parathyroid diseases, kidney calculi or immobilisation of the body for treatment purposes. Possible side effects include increased calcium levels, increased urinary calcium excretion, constipation, flatulence, abdominal pain, nausea, hives, itching, skin rash and shift of the acid-base balance in the blood to the alkaline side.
