The Visomat medic home XL blood pressure monitor is a manual device for measuring blood pressure using the Korotkow method.It is suitable for professional use in hospitals, doctor's offices and emergency services as well as for self-measurement at home.The device has a skin-friendly cuff that is suitable for strong arms with a circumference of 32 to 42 cm.It is also shockproof according to DIN EN ISO 81060-1 and has a precise stethoscope integrated into the cuff.

The device consists of a high-quality metal housing with an air release screw and a large scale that allows safe and accurate reading of blood pressure values.It is also suitable for cardiac arrhythmias and comes with a storage bag and a blood pressure pass.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

The Visomat medic home XL blood pressure monitor is a mechanical device for auscultatory measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the upper arm.It is suitable for patients of all ages and constitutions and enables precise monitoring, control and diagnosis of blood pressure values.

To make the device ready for use, the hose of the cuff must be connected to the connection on the pressure gauge.Blood pressure measurement should be carried out in a relaxed and calm state.The cuff size should be selected to fit the upper arm, and care should be taken to ensure that the clothing does not restrict blood flow.The arm and palm should be positioned upwards and measurements should always be taken on the same arm to eliminate side-to-side differences.

It is important to always take daily blood pressure measurements at approximately the same time, as blood pressure can change by more than 20 mmHg in just a few minutes.For pregnant patients and children aged 3 to 12 years, special recommendations from EN ISO 81060-1 should be observed.

Care of the device

The device contains sensitive parts and should be protected from strong temperature fluctuations, humidity, dust and direct sunlight.It should not be loaded with heavy objects or bent, and it is not waterproof.If dirty, a soft, dry cloth should be used to clean the device.Mikrozid Sensitive Liquid is recommended for disinfection.

The cuff can be washed at 30°C and the air bladder should sit in the cuff without folds or creases.Spray disinfection with 70% isopropyl is recommended to disinfect the cuff.If the device was opened, it must be subjected to a metrological control by an authorized institution.
