How do I prepare for taking my blood pressure?

Before measuring, you should avoid physical exertion and not smoke.Taking measurements directly after a meal is also not ideal.Sit quietly on a chair without crossing your legs and relax in this position for about five minutes.This helps to avoid distortions of the measurement results due to your current state of mind.

How do I put the cuff on correctly?

Remove restrictive or thick clothing from your upper arm.You cannot roll up thin sleeves, otherwise they will congest blood.The cuff can be easily closed over the fabric.Position the artery marker over the artery on the inside of the arm.The bottom edge of the cuff should be approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the crook of the elbow.Close the cuff tightly without constricting your arm.For a relaxed posture, rest your upper arm on the back of a chair so that the cuff is at heart level.The forearm should rest loosely and not be bent.

How does the measurement work?
