Instructions for use

These instructions for use are intended to help the user use the device safely and efficiently.It must be stored with the product and passed on if necessary.The device must be used in accordance with the procedures contained in these instructions for use and must not be used for any other purpose.

It is important that you read and understand all of the instructions before using the device.Pay particular attention to the “Important application instructions” chapter.Depending on age, weight and general condition, blood pressure values can vary.Only a doctor can determine the right blood pressure range for you and assess whether your blood pressure has reached a level that is dangerous for you.Discuss your blood pressure values with your doctor.

Safety instructions

Before putting on the cuff, please check whether the arm circumference is within the range specified on the cuff.The device may only be operated with original parts.The guarantee is void if damage is caused by third-party accessories!

Under no circumstances should you open or modify the device; this is a medical device and may only be opened by authorized specialists.If the device was opened, it must be subjected to a metrological check by an authorized institution.

Make sure the cuff and air hose are not kinked.Please adhere to the intended operating conditions for measurement.The device must be used in accordance with the procedures contained in this manual and must not be used/used for any other purpose.

Before each use, check whether the pointer is still at the zero point ±3mmHg.The pointer must move freely over the entire range of the scale.If there is damage, the device must be technically checked.

Important application instructions

To get the device ready for use, you need to connect the hose of the cuff to the connection on the pressure gauge.The patient's blood pressure measurement should be carried out in a relaxed, calm state.

The cuff size must be selected to fit the upper arm.Make sure that clothing on the upper arm (e.g. by rolling up the sleeve) does not restrict blood flow.Position your arm and palm upwards.

In order to rule out side differences and obtain comparable measurement results, it is important to always carry out blood pressure measurements on the same arm.Always take your daily blood pressure measurements at approximately the same time.Blood pressure is not a fixed quantity.In patients, this can change up or down by more than 20 mmHg within a few minutes.

Recommendations from EN ISO 81060-1

In pregnant patients, K5 should be used (K5 occurs with the last audible tone). In exceptional cases - if Korotkoff sounds can still be heard after the cuff has been completely deflated - it is advisable to use K4 to determine the diastolic blood pressure.

For measurements in children aged 3 to 12 years, it is recommended to use K4 of Korotkoff sounds to determine diastole.

K5 is the phase at which the Korotkoff sounds are no longer audible.K4 is the point at which the sounds heard with the stethoscope change from a clear beating to a dull beating sound.

Care of the device

The device contains sensitive parts and must be protected from strong temperature fluctuations, humidity, dust and direct sunlight.When storing, make sure that there are no heavy objects on the device or cuff and that the air hose is not kinked.

The device is not waterproof.If the device becomes dirty during use, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device.Do not use benzine, thinner or other solvents.

To disinfect the device, Mikrozid Sensitive Liquid is recommended to avoid damage to the plastic and viewing glass.If the cuff becomes dirty during use, use a synthetic cleaning agent to clean it and gently rub the surface.

The cuff cover can be washed at 30°C after removing the air bubble.To reinsert the air bladder, insert the air hose from the inside through the air hose opening.Make sure the air bladder is inserted into the cuff with the longer end first.Make sure the air bladder fits into the cuff without folds or creases.

To disinfect the cuff, we recommend spray disinfection with 70% isopropyl.If the device was opened, it must be subjected to a metrological control by an authorized institution.Make sure no liquid gets into the air hose.Allow to dry thoroughly.
