Ginkgovital Heumann 120 mg Film-Coated Tablets contain the active ingredient Ginkgo biloba leaves dry extract and are used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia. It is important to note that these film-coated tablets contain lactose, glucose and sodium. The recommended dosage for adults and elderly patients is one film-coated tablet twice daily. It is best taken in the morning and evening, independently of meals. The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks. If there is no improvement in the symptoms after 3 months or if the symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted. Ginkgovital Heumann is contraindicated in case of allergy to Ginkgo biloba extract or any of the other ingredients, as well as during pregnancy. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use if there is an increased tendency to bleed, epilepsy, a planned operation or simultaneous treatment with blood-thinning medication. Side effects that may rarely occur are headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bleeding in individual organs, hypersensitivity reactions and allergic skin reactions. In case of an overdose, gastrointestinal complaints, headaches and allergic skin reactions may occur. Ginkgovital Heumann should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor or pharmacist before use. The medicinal product should be kept at room temperature (not above 30 °C) and out of the reach of children. It must not be used after the expiry date. Package sizes vary and maximum quantity restrictions apply to certain products.
