PAROEX® 1.2 mg/ml mouthwash is a disinfectant mouthwash solution that contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine in a concentration of 1.2 mg/ml.This solution kills bacteria and pathogens in the mouth, reduces bacterial plaque and inhibits its formation.It protects and cares for the gums, especially in the event of inflammation or irritation, and thus actively contributes to the health of the oral cavity.The product is suitable for anyone who needs to rinse their mouth with chlorhexidine.

Mode of action

The active ingredient chlorhexidine in PAROEX® 1.2 mg/ml mouthwash has an antiseptic and disinfectant effect.The solution has a pleasant taste, which encourages regular use.It is also alcohol-free, which makes it particularly well tolerated.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

1 ml of PAROEX® 1.2 mg/ml mouthwash contains 1.2 mg chlorhexidine digluconate, which corresponds to 0.68 mg chlorhexidine.Other ingredients include glycerol, acesulfame potassium, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, propylene glycol, azorubine, purified water and mint flavor.The mint aroma is composed of levomenthol, anethole, cineole, peppermint oil, (-)-trans-menthone, menthyl acetate, racementhol, propylene glycol, triacetin, star anise oil, pelargonium flower oil, vanillin, maltol, mandarin oil and ethanol.

Areas of application

PAROEX® 1.2 mg/ml mouthwash is suitable as an additional treatment for oral mucosal infections and for postoperative treatment after dental surgery.It supports oral hygiene if you have gum disease or if brushing your teeth is only possible to a limited extent.The solution can also be used in an oral irrigator.

Application and dosage

Adults and children over 6 years of age should use 15 ml of the solution 1 to 3 times a day, preferably after meals.Fill the lid up to the marking ring (15 ml), rinse your mouth for a minute and then spit out the solution.Rinsing with water is not necessary.It is best used after brushing your teeth and after rinsing your mouth thoroughly with water.Typically, the mouthwash should not be used for more than 5 days in a row unless recommended by a (dental) doctor.

Contraindications and patient information

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.It is intended for rinsing the oral cavity only, and contact with the eyes and ears or other tissues outside the oral cavity should be avoided.If you come into contact with your eyes or ears, they should be rinsed thoroughly with water.The mouthwash is not intended to be swallowed and should only be used by people who are able to rinse their mouth.It should not be used if there is ulceration or detachment in the oral cavity.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.To date, there is limited experience with use in pregnant women and it is not known whether chlorhexidine is excreted in breast milk.Therefore, you should use the medicine with caution.
