Ginkgo STADA® 120 mg film-coated tablets is a herbal medicine for improving age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia.The active ingredient is Ginkgo biloba leaf dry extract.No prescription is required for this product.It contains lactose and glucose.

Area of application

Ginkgo STADA® 120 mg film-coated tablets promotes blood circulation in the brain, strengthens memory and concentration.The Far Eastern medicinal plant Ginkgo biloba is traditionally used to support memory and perception in old age.Forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating and dizziness can occur with increasing age and in mild dementia, often due to decreasing cerebral blood flow.Ginkgo STADA® can help to improve cerebral circulation and thus increase memory performance.

Ginkgo STADA® is particularly suitable for age-related memory and concentration problems and mild dementia.It contains 120 mg dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves with high extract quality.The product promotes blood circulation in the brain, strengthens memory and concentration and is ideal for long-term use.

Mode of action

Ginkgo has been used as a medicinal plant in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.The Ginkgo biloba leaf extract contained in Ginkgo STADA® promotes blood circulation in the brain and can therefore improve memory performance and increase concentration.

Ginkgo STADA® 120 mg film-coated tablets contains ginkgo biloba dry extract as the active ingredient.One film-coated tablet contains 120 mg of quantified, refined dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67: 1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m).The extract is quantified to contain 22.0-27.0% flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 2.8-3.4% ginkgolides A, B and C, 2.6-3.2% bilobalide and contains a maximum of 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.

The other ingredients are: Tablet core: croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich], microcrystalline cellulose, spray-dried glucose syrup.Filming: Opadry II White 85 F18422, consisting of: macrogol 3350, poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E 172).

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba extract or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or if you are pregnant.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.The recommended dose for adults and elderly patients is 1 film-coated tablet twice daily.It should be taken twice daily, morning and evening.Children and adolescents should not take the medicine as there is no relevant indication for this age group.

Treatment should last at least 8 weeks.If there is no improvement in symptoms after 3 months or if the symptoms of the disease worsen, your doctor should check whether continuing treatment is still justified.

If you take more than you should, please contact your doctor or seek medical advice.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are taken orally.Swallow the tablets whole with liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you have an abnormal tendency to bleed, are taking blood-thinning medications at the same time, suffer from epilepsy, are planning to have an operation in the next 3 to 4 days or are taking efavirenz.Also talk to your doctor or pharmacist if your symptoms worsen during treatment.

There have been no adequate studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines.Your doctor will tell you whether your illness allows you to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.This medicine must not be taken during pregnancy.It should also not be used during breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies.

Notes

Ginkgo STADA® 120 mg film-coated tablets is intended for use in adults. The product contains lactose and glucose.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
