Doppelherz Ginkgo 240 mg System film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves as the active ingredient.This herbal medicine is used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia.No prescription is required for this product.
The film-coated tablets contain 240 mg of quantified, refined dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (35 - 67: 1).The extract is quantified to contain 52.8 mg - 64.8 mg flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 6.72 mg - 8.16 mg ginkgolides A, B and C and 6.24 mg - 7.68 mg bilobalide.The extract contains a maximum of 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.Other ingredients include croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, spray-dried glucose syrup, macrogol 3350, poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, titanium dioxide (E171) and iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E172).
This product contains lactose and glucose.Please only take Doppelherz Ginkgo 240 mg after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.
Application and dosage
The recommended dose for adults and elderly patients is half a film-coated tablet twice daily, morning and evening.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It can be taken regardless of meals.Treatment should last at least 8 weeks.If there is no improvement in symptoms after 3 months, the doctor should consider continuing treatment.
Contraindications and precautions
Doppelherz Ginkgo 240 mg must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba dry extract or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or if you are pregnant.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you have a pathologically increased bleeding tendency, if you are being treated with blood-thinning medication at the same time, if you are known to have a seizure disorder, if an operation is planned in the next 3 to 4 days or if you are taking efavirenz.There is no relevant indication for children and adolescents.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, pelvic pain, nausea, vomiting, bleeding from individual organs, hypersensitivity reactions and allergic skin reactions.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not store it above 30°C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister pack.
