Hepar-SL 640 mg film-coated tablets are a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of digestive disorders, in particular for functional disorders of the bile ducts. The recommended dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is one film-coated tablet twice a day, taken unchewed with sufficient liquid at the main meal times. The medicine should not be used for longer than one week without medical advice. If symptoms persist for a longer period of time or recur regularly, a doctor should be consulted. Side effects may occur, but these are rare. The medicinal product must not be taken if you are allergic to artichoke leaves or other composite plants, soya or peanuts, in the case of biliary diseases such as obstruction or inflammation of the bile ducts, gallstone disease and inflammation of the liver. The medicinal product should not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. People with impaired kidney or liver function should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
