Area of application

Heparin has a decongestant effect and promotes the drainage or breakdown of accumulated tissue fluids.This helps reduce bruising, bruising and associated swelling.For more severe swelling and superficial phlebitis, there is also a higher-dose version with 60,000 IU.

Bruises are particularly common in contact sports such as football, ice hockey or martial arts.Even everyday accidents such as minor falls or bumping into objects can cause bruising and swelling.Heparin axicur 30,000 IU ointment can help in the treatment of these injuries.

Bruises, also known as hematomas, occur due to injuries to the blood vessels.They are initially visible as a blue spot and change color over time until they slowly disappear again.Heparin can be used to help resolve bruises.

How should I act immediately after a bruise occurs?

If you have a bruise, you can follow the so-called “PECH” rule:

1. Break: Immobilize the affected part of the body as quickly as possible.Lie or sit down and be careful not to put any strain on that area of your body.

2. Ice: Ice the injured area to reduce pain and swelling.Use cold packs or ice packs and do not place them directly on the skin, but instead place a cloth between them, for example.

3. Compression: Wrap the affected area in a pressure bandage to prevent bleeding.

4. Elevate: Elevate the injured body part above heart level to counteract blood flow.These measures are first aid measures.If symptoms worsen, you should consult a doctor.

Contraindications

The ointment must not be used if you are hypersensitive to heparin or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.In addition, the ointment should not be applied to open wounds or weeping eczema.

Dosage

Apply Heparin Axicur 30,000 international units ointment thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.After use, wash your hands thoroughly with soap.The application should not last longer than 10 days.

Pregnancy

Previous experience with the local application of heparin to the skin of pregnant and breastfeeding women has shown no evidence of harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and therefore cannot enter the child's blood.Heparin also does not pass into breast milk.

Heparin axicur® 30,000 IU ointment contains sorbic acid, potassium sorbate, cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol and soy lecithin.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
