Voltaren Pain Gel forte is a gel with the active ingredient diclofenac, which is used for the local, symptomatic treatment of pain from acute bruises, strains or sprains.It is suitable for adults and teenagers aged 14 and over and is used for short-term treatment.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Voltaren pain gel forte is used to treat acute back pain, muscle pain and joint pain.It provides up to 12 hours of pain relief and has a cooling effect.The active ingredient diclofenac penetrates deep into the joint and fights inflammation, resulting in targeted pain relief.Compared to painkillers, the gel has a lower risk of systemic side effects.

The active ingredient in Voltaren pain gel forte is diclofenac-N-ethylethanamine with a concentration of 23.2 mg per gram of gel.The other ingredients include purified water, 2-propanol, propylene glycol, cocoyl caprylocaprate, paraffin, macrogol cetyl stearyl ether, carbomer, N-ethylethanamine, oleyl alcohol, eucalyptus perfume and butylated hydroxytoluene.

Contraindications

Voltaren pain gel forte should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.It should not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy and should not be applied to open wounds.The product is not suitable for young people under 14 years of age.

Dosage

Voltaren pain gel forte is applied to the painful area twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening.A cherry to walnut-sized amount (1-4g gel) should be applied thinly and rubbed in lightly.The gel should dry on the skin for a few minutes before putting on clothing or applying a bandage.Hands should be washed afterwards unless they are the area to be treated.The gel should not be used for longer than 1-3 weeks without medical advice.

Intake

The gel is for external use only and must not be taken.It should be applied thinly to the affected area of the body and rubbed in lightly.Hands should then be wiped with a paper towel and washed unless they are the area to be treated.The paper towel should be disposed of in the trash.Before dressing or applying a bandage, the gel should dry on the skin for a few minutes.If too much gel is accidentally applied, the excess gel should be wiped off with a paper towel and disposed of in the trash.

Patient information

Before using Voltaren pain gel forte you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist.The gel may only be applied to intact, not diseased or injured skin.In acute conditions with severe redness, swelling or overheating of joints, persistent joint problems or severe back pain that radiates to the legs and/or is associated with neurological symptoms, a doctor should be consulted.If symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or worsen, a doctor should also be consulted.Patients with asthma, hay fever or swollen nasal mucous membranes should only use the medicine under medical supervision.If a skin rash occurs, treatment should be discontinued.Children should not come into contact with rubbed areas of skin.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Voltaren pain gel forte should only be used after consulting a doctor.The gel must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy.Diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts, so the gel should not be applied to the breast area or to large areas of skin for a long period of time.
