Ginkgo - 1 A Pharma® 240 mg film-coated tablets are a herbal medicine that is used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia.The active ingredient is a dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves, which is known for its blood circulation-promoting properties.This extract contains various plant ingredients such as ginkgolide, bilobalide and flavonoids, which promote the activity of messenger substances in the brain and improve the transmission of information between nerve cells.

Ginkgo - 1 A Pharma® 240 mg film-coated tablets are suitable for adults aged 18 and over.The recommended dosage is half a film-coated tablet twice a day, which corresponds to a total of 240 mg of Ginkgo biloba extract per day.The tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid, preferably a glass of water.It can be taken independently of meals, but not in a lying position.

Each film-coated tablet of Ginkgo - 1 A Pharma® 240 mg contains 240 mg of quantified, refined dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67:1), extracted with acetone 60% (m/m).The extract is quantified to contain 22.0-27.0% flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 2.8-3.4% ginkgolides A, B and C, 2.6-3.2% bilobalide and contains a maximum of 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.Other ingredients are croscarmellose sodium, highly disperse silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (vegetable), microcrystalline cellulose and spray-dried glucose syrup (Ph.Eur).

Contraindications

Ginkgo - 1 A Pharma® must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba extract or any of the other ingredients of this medicine mentioned.The product must not be taken during pregnancy.

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and older patients is ½ film-coated tablet of Ginkgo - 1 A Pharma® twice daily.It should be taken in the morning and evening.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken orally.They should be swallowed whole (not chewed) with liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It can be taken regardless of meals.The tablets should not be taken in a lying position.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you have a pathological increased bleeding tendency, are taking blood-thinning medication, suffer from epilepsy or are having an operation planned in the next 3 to 4 days.Also talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking efavirenz or if symptoms worsen with treatment.There is no relevant indication for children and adolescents.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Since there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must not be taken during pregnancy.This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies.

Notes

Contains lactose and glucose.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
