Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Diaverde 100 mg hard capsules is racecadotril.Other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, pre-gelatinized corn starch, highly disperse silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.The capsule shell consists of gelatin, titanium dioxide, iron(III)hydroxide-oxide x H2O and black ink.The black ink contains shellac, ethanol, 2-propanol, butan-1-ol, propylene glycol, concentrated ammonia solution, iron(II,III) oxide, potassium hydroxide and purified water.The product contains lactose.

Mode of action

Racecadotril, the active ingredient in Diaverde 100 mg hard capsules, is used to treat diarrhea.It reduces the release of water in the intestines, causing the stool to thicken and diarrhea to subside.

Area of application

Diaverde 100 mg hard capsules is a treatment for acute diarrhea in adults over 18 years of age if causal treatment is not possible.It can also be taken in addition to causal therapy.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

Diaverde 100 mg hard capsules should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.Infants, children and adolescents, pregnant women and breastfeeding women must also not take the medicine.It is also not suitable for diarrhea with blood in the stool and fever, chronic diarrheal diseases, diarrhea during or after taking antibiotics, and swelling of the tongue, face, lips, eyelids and subcutaneous tissue caused by ACE-inhibitors.Skin irritation may occasionally occur.If severe skin reactions occur, treatment should be stopped immediately.

Dosage

On the first day of treatment, two capsules are taken at once, regardless of the time of day.One capsule is taken before the other main meals, no more than four capsules in total on the first day.From the second day of treatment, one capsule is taken three times a day before main meals.Treatment should continue as long as the stool is unformed, but not longer than three days.

Intake

The hard capsules should be taken whole with a glass of water before main meals.
