The Exacto HIV self-test is a HIVself-test that can be used at home. It offers a reliability of 99.9% and provides a result within 10 minutes. The test is easy to use and anonymous. It has been clinically tested and has CE-certification. The test detects antibodies through antigens and should be confirmed by a doctor. To perform the test, hands must be washed and disinfected. A drop of blood must be placed in the test cassette. After 10 minutes, the result can be read. A negative result shows only one line at the letter C, a positive result shows one line at the letters C and T. The test should be used by people who have not been exposed to any risk of infection for at least 12 weeks. In case of incorrect use or an invalid test result, the test should be repeated. The self-test is also available as a partner pack and supports the work of the German AIDS-Help. The sale of HIVself-tests is also permitted in Germany as of October 2018.
