Myrtacin® is a multiactive plant extract obtained from the Mediterranean myrtle by Laboratoires DUCRAY .The herbal ingredients in Myrtacin® help the skin defend itself against pimple-causing bacteria such as C. acnes.C. acnes protects itself from the body's own defense mechanisms by forming a protective film.Myrtacin® has two effects on this protective layer: Firstly, the protective film becomes unstable, making it more difficult for the bacteria to multiply in the skin.Secondly, the new formation of the protective film is reduced, so that new bacteria cannot build up any protection at all.In addition, this dual attack on the protective film can improve the effectiveness of anti-pimple creams and ointments containing antibiotics applied to the skin.
