Mykosert® Spray is a medicine for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin and feet. It contains the active ingredient sertaconazole nitrate and is used for the external treatment of fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes (such as athlete's foot) or in cases of Kleienpilzflechte. The spray should be applied to the affected areas of the skin twice a day at intervals of 12 hours. The duration of treatment is usually until complete healing, for a maximum of 28 days. If no improvement of the symptoms is noticed within two weeks, a doctor should be consulted. The medication is well tolerated and effectively stops skin and foot fungus. It has both a fungicidal and anti-inflammatory effect. Side effects may include skin reactions such as redness, burning, itching and drying of the skin. Mykosert® Spray should be protected from heat and used within 6 months after opening. It must not be used during pregnancy and should not be applied to the breast when breastfeeding. It should not be used if you are allergic to antifungals or hypersensitive to the ingredients. Solvents such as propylene glycol should also not be used in case skin irritation occurs. Before using the medicine, possible interactions with other medicines or contraindications should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist. Mykosert® Spray is a good alternative to cream because it can be sprayed evenly on the skin and does not leave stains. It is also suitable for treating athlete's foot in shoes and can be used in addition to nail fungus treatment. To avoid re-infection, infected clothing, towels and bed linen should be washed separately and at a minimum of 60 °C. The application of the spray is easy and hygienic because you do not have to touch the skin. It additionally dries out the skin and makes it more difficult for the fungus to grow.
