HYLO NIGHT®: Protection for the night

HYLO NIGHT® is an eye ointment that was specially developed for night-time eye lubrication.It relieves the feeling of burning, dry and tired eyes and improves the tear film to protect the ocular surface overnight.The ointment contains vitamin A and is free of preservatives and phosphates, which makes it particularly well tolerated. HYLO NIGHT® is suitable as a nighttime supplement to eye drops for all stages of dry eyes.

Protects the surface of the eye overnight

Hardly any tears are produced while you sleep, so regular moistening with eye drops overnight is not possible. HYLO NIGHT® was specifically developed to protect the surface of the eye at night.The soft and supple eye ointment spreads well over the irritated surface of the eye and contains the ingredient vitamin A to relieve the feeling of burning, dry and tired eyes.The eye ointment is free of preservatives and is therefore very well tolerated.It has a shelf life of 6 months after opening the tube and is suitable as a nighttime supplement to HYLO® eye drops for all stages of dry eyes.

Soft eye ointment with vitamin A

Vitamin A is an essential active ingredient for our body, which is important, among other things, for regulating growth and protecting the mucous membranes.It is also considered an “eye vitamin” due to its important role in eyesight and tear fluid.Vitamin A is a natural component of the tear film, which supports the good tolerability of HYLO NIGHT®.It also ensures that the eye ointment mixes well with the natural tear fluid and the eyelids glide more easily over the cornea and conjunctiva.

Ingredients of HYLO NIGHT®: 1 g HYLO NIGHT® contains 250 IU retinol palmitate (vitamin A), thick paraffin, thin paraffin, wool wax and white petroleum jelly.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Eye ointments should always be used in such a way that the tip of the tube does not come into contact with the eye or facial skin.Only use HYLO NIGHT® if the seal on the folding box was intact before first use.Unscrew the tube cap.Tilt your head back slightly and pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye with the finger of one hand.With your other hand, hold the tube in an upright position over the eye and apply a small strand of ointment into the conjunctival sac by applying gentle pressure to the tube.Slowly close your eyelids.After use, the tube should be carefully closed again.

Pregnancy

HYLO NIGHT® can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Notes

If you use HYLO NIGHT® during the day, you will temporarily not be able to see completely clearly due to the high-fat consistency of the ointment.You should then not drive a car, actively participate in traffic, operate machines or carry out work without a secure footing. HYLO NIGHT® should not be used at the same time as ophthalmic medicines.In these cases, do not administer HYLO NIGHT® until approximately 30 minutes after using the eye medicine.No prescription is required for this product.

Different stages of dry eyes

Dry eyes, also known as sicca syndrome, can manifest as various symptoms such as burning, redness or itching.Eyes feel tired or irritated.For mild to moderate symptoms, lubricating eye drops can provide rapid relief. For people with severe and chronic symptoms, we recommend special high-viscosity gel drops that adhere to the surface of the eye for a particularly long time.In addition, using an eye ointment overnight can provide intensive eye lubrication for all types of dry eyes and support the regeneration of the stressed eye surface.

Sensation of grains of sand in the eye

Dry eyes can cause unpleasant symptoms, and not just during the day.Due to the lack of tear production when sleeping, many sufferers complain of a so-called grain of sand feeling when they wake up in the morning.This occurs when the inside of the eyelid sticks to the surface of the eye, which is caused by dry eyes.When you open the eyelid, it rubs against the dry surface of the eye, causing this unpleasant feeling.Using HYLO NIGHT® eye ointment overnight can prevent that unpleasant feeling of sand in the morning.

HYLO NIGHT® is suitable for all stages of dry eye as a supplement to lubricating eye drops such as HYLO COMOD® or HYLO GEL® by placing an approx. 0.5 cm long strand of ointment into the conjunctival sac of each eye in the evening before going to bed.If there is a pronounced feeling of dryness in the eyes and severe discomfort, the ointment can also be used during the day.Do not use HYLO NIGHT® at the same time as other eye medicines.If this is necessary, HYLO NIGHT® should only be administered approximately 30 minutes after using other ophthalmic medicines.

Is visual impairment likely when using HYLO NIGHT®? HYLO NIGHT® eye ointment forms a long-lasting protective film on the eye.Due to the fatty consistency, there may be a slight impairment of vision, which is why it is recommended to use the medical product, especially overnight.If you also want to use HYLO NIGHT® during the day, you should not drive a car or otherwise actively participate in road traffic, operate machines or carry out work without secure support.

Can HYLO NIGHT® be used with contact lenses?No, HYLO NIGHT® eye ointment must not be used while wearing contact lenses.For intensive moistening of the eye, you as a contact lens wearer can alternatively choose from various eye drop preparations from the HYLO® range - depending on the severity of the dry eye symptoms.

Does the eye need to be covered after using HYLO NIGHT®?No, that is not necessary.The only exception is incomplete eyelid closure (lagophthalmos).In this case, a so-called watch glass bandage may be advisable overnight in consultation with the treating ophthalmologist.The transparent patch creates a moist chamber that prevents the eye from drying out.
