Cromo Micro Labs eye drops contain the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate and belong to a group of medicines called anti-allergics. They are used to prevent and treat allergic reactions to the eye caused by hay fever or an allergy to substances such as dust mites or animal hair. The eye drops stop the release of natural substances in the eyes that can lead to an allergic reaction. Common symptoms of an allergic reaction are itchy, watery, red or inflamed eyes and swollen eyelids. The eye drops are used 4 times a day, one to two drops per eye. An overdose is not known. The duration of use is not limited and should be continued after the symptoms are relieved. The medicinal product should be protected from heat and stored in the dark. It contains the preservative benzalkonium chloride. Sodium cromoglicate must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Side effects may include burning of the eye, a foreign body sensation in the eye, conjunctival swelling of the eye and a feeling of warmth in the eye. It should be noted that when using more than one eye drop, an interval between applications is required. Drug safety recommends a limited quantity of no more than 15 packs per quarter. Sodium cromoglicate is available in household quantities, but certain medicines may have separate maximum quantities.
