Pu Erh tea, also known as red tea, comes from the Yunnan province of China.This tea specialty has been traditionally grown there for over 1,700 years.The tea is made from a subspecies of the tea plant "Camellia sinensis" called "Qingmao" and is very popular among tea lovers.

Pu Erh tea has a long tradition in traditional Chinese medicine.The tea is characterized by its smoky aroma and strong red color.The leaves go through a special ripening process in which they are fermented until they acquire a reddish-brown color.The exact traditional processing of the tea is still a well-kept secret today.
