Area of application

Prostagutt® uno is a herbal medicine that is used to relieve discomfort when urinating due to a benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia).It helps with stages I to II according to Alken or II to III according to Vahlensieck.It is important to note that this medication relieves the symptoms, but does not eliminate the enlargement of the prostate.Therefore, regular visits to the doctor should be made, especially if symptoms such as blood in the urine or acute urinary retention occur.

Each Prostagutt® uno soft capsule contains 320 mg of saw palmetto fruit thick extract (10-14.3:1), using ethanol 90% (m/m) as the extractant.The other ingredients include gelatin polysuccinate, glycerol 85%, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E172), iron (II,III) oxide (E172) and patent blue V (E131).

Contraindications

Prostagutt® uno must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to saw palmetto fruits or any of the other ingredients of the drug.It is not intended for children and young people under 18 years of age.Since the drug is only indicated for men, it should not be taken by women unless specifically recommended by the doctor.

Dosage

The usual dosage is one soft capsule once daily, equivalent to 320 mg of saw palmetto fruit thick extract.The capsule should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.The duration of use is not limited, but regular visits to the doctor should be made to monitor the success of the treatment.In case of overdose, no special measures are required, but please inform your doctor.Missed doses should be continued normally without changing the dose.

Intake

The soft capsules are swallowed whole with a little liquid.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Patient information

Prostagutt® uno relieves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, but does not correct the enlargement itself. Regular visits to the doctor are important to monitor the condition.Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

Pregnancy

Since Prostagutt® uno is only indicated for men, it should not be taken by women.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, medication should only be taken after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.
