What is nettle tea and what is it used for?

Nettle tea is used to flush the urinary tract and to prevent and treat kidney disease.It also supports the treatment of rheumatic complaints.The ingredients in the tea come from the leaves of the nettle plant.

Dosage and instructions for use:

Young people aged 12 and over and adults can drink a cup of the tea infusion 3-4 times a day.To do this, 4 teaspoons (approx. 2.8 grams) of nettle tea are poured with boiling water (approx. 150 ml) and strained after 10 to 15 minutes.It is important to also drink plenty of fluids.The duration of use is not limited, but the medicine should not be used for longer than a week without improvement in symptoms.A dosage prescribed by your doctor may differ from this information.

Contraindications:

Nettle tea should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, if you have water retention (edema), especially if you have heart or kidney weakness, or if you are under 12 years old.Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The active ingredient in nettle tea are nettle leaves.

How it works:

The ingredients in nettle, such as fatty acids, silicic acid, phytosterols and tannins, have an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect.The tea has a slightly diuretic effect and is therefore used for semolina in the urinary tract.
