What is nettle tea and what is it used for?

Nettle tea is used to flush the urinary tract and to prevent and treat kidney disease.It also supports the treatment of rheumatic complaints.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage and instructions for use

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults should drink a tea infusion three to four times a day.To do this, pour 150 milliliters of boiling water over four teaspoons of nettle tea (around 2.8 grams) and strain it after 10 to 15 minutes.It is important to ensure that you also drink plenty of fluids.The duration of use is not limited, but the medicine should not be used for longer than a week without medical advice if there is no improvement.There are no known symptoms of overdose.

Contraindications

Nettle tea should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, if you have water retention (edema), especially if you have heart or kidney weakness, or if you are under 12 years old.Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Composition

The active ingredient in nettle tea are nettle leaves.

Mode of action

The ingredients in nettle, including fatty acids, silicic acid, phytosterols and tannins, have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.The tea has a slightly diuretic effect and is therefore used against semolina in the urinary tract.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to ascorbic acid, St. John's wort, hawthorn, phenol, chlorophyll, citric acid, cinnamon, birch, poplar buds, propolis, valerian, turmeric and rosin.

Storage

Nettle tea should be stored away from light and moisture.
