Instructions for use of Ophthalmin-N eye drops

Ophtalmin-N eye drops contain the active ingredient tetryzoline hydrochloride and are used to treat eye irritation and allergic inflammation of the eye.Areas of application include irritation from smoke, wind, chlorinated water and light as well as allergic reactions such as hay fever and pollen hypersensitivity.No prescription is required for this product.

Important notes

Ophtalmin-N eye drops must not be used in angle-closure glaucoma, hypersensitivity to tetryzoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients, or in children under 2 years of age.Caution is advised in the case of severe cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders such as hyperthyroidism or diabetes mellitus, as well as in treatment with medications that increase blood pressure.

Application

Ophthalmin-N eye drops are intended for use on the eyes.The recommended dosage is 1 drop, 2 to 3 times daily, as needed.The head should be tilted back slightly and the applicator tip should not touch the eye or other surfaces.Use for more than 5 days should only be carried out under medical supervision.

Side effects

Possible side effects include conjunctival irritation, blurred vision, heart palpitations, headache, tremor, weakness, sweating, and increase in blood pressure.Very rarely, keratinization of the conjunctiva and corneal clouding can occur.If side effects occur, use should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Storage

The medicine should not be stored above 25°C and should be used within 6 weeks after opening.It must be kept out of the reach of children.After the expiry date, the medicine may no longer be used.

Composition

Ophthalmin-N eye drops contain 0.5 mg tetryzoline hydrochloride per milliliter.Other ingredients include benzalkonium chloride, sorbitol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, hypromellose and water for injections.
