Pepsin wine "Blücher-Schering" is a traditional medicine used to support stomach function.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

This medicine is traditionally used as a mild agent to support stomach function.If you have persistent or recurring stomach problems, you should consult a doctor.

Contraindications

Pepsin wine "Blücher-Schering" must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to pepsin or one of the other ingredients.

Precautions and warnings

This medicine contains 16% alcohol by volume.If the dosage instructions are followed, up to 2.5 g of alcohol will be consumed with each intake (20 ml).There is a particular health risk for people with liver disease, alcoholics, epileptics, brain damage, pregnant women and children.The effect of other medicines may be impaired or increased.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding/children

Since there are no sufficient studies, pepsin wine "Blücher-Schering" should not be used in pregnant women, during breastfeeding and in children under 12 years of age.

Interactions with other agents

Interactions are not known in the specified dose range.

Ability to drive and use machines

In road traffic and when operating machines, taking pepsin wine "Blücher-Schering" can impair your ability to react.

Dosage instructions, type and duration of application

Always take pepsin wine “Blücher-Schering” exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet.Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children aged 12 and over take a glass of liqueur (20 ml) with every meal.The duration of use is in principle not limited.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

Side effects

There are no known side effects in the prescribed dosage range.If side effects occur, please stop taking the product and inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Information on storage and shelf life

Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the label.Store drug out of reach of children.Do not store above 25ºC.The shelf life after opening is 6 weeks.

Composition

100 ml (equivalent to 102.5 g) of liquid contains: Active ingredient: 0.20 g pepsin powder from pig, protease at least 0.6 Ph.Eur.E/mg.Other ingredients: liqueur wine, tincture (1:5) from bitter orange peel (extractant: ethanol 70% (V/V)).Note: 100 ml contains 510 kJ = 122 kcal, 8.20 g KH = 0.68 BE.
