Area of application

Neo-Angin throat lozenges are used to support the treatment of inflammation of the throat mucosa, which is accompanied by symptoms such as sore throat, redness or swelling.They are suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 3-4 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Mode of action

The active ingredients in Neo-Angin throat lozenges have a pain-relieving and disinfecting effect.Applied locally, they kill bacteria and viruses and stabilize the mucous membrane flora in the throat, which makes it more difficult for further pathogens to penetrate.

Each lozenge contains the following active ingredients: 1.2 mg 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, 0.6 mg amylmetacresol and 5.9 mg levomenthol.Excipients include star anise oil, peppermint oil, Ponceau 4R (E-124), sucrose, glucose syrup (dry substance), tartaric acid, 1.14 g glucose and 1.42 g sucrose.

Contraindications

Neo-Angin throat lozenges must not be used if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, have rare inherited fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.It is also not suitable for use in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases with hypersensitivity of the airways, as well as in infants and children up to 2 years of age.

Dosage

Adults and children aged 6 and over allow one lozenge to slowly dissolve in the mouth every 2-3 hours.The maximum daily dose is 6 tablets.The medicine should not be used for longer than 3-4 days without medical advice.

Intake

The lozenge should be allowed to melt slowly in the mouth so that it can work optimally.

Pregnancy

There are no data on the tolerability of Neo-Angin throat lozenges during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Application is not recommended during these periods.

Side effects

Possible side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, mucous membrane irritation and stomach upset.Ponceau 4R (E-124) can cause allergic reactions.In appropriately sensitized patients, levomenthol and peppermint oil can trigger hypersensitivity reactions, including shortness of breath.

Storage

The medicine should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.
