Instructions for use of the isotonic saline solution for rinsing purposes

Isotonic saline is a physiological solution that can be used both internally and externally.It is suitable for various medical purposes, such as perfusion of the extracorporeal system during hemodialysis, postoperative bladder irrigation after urological procedures, irrigation in the gastrointestinal tract as well as fistulas and drainage.It can also be used to treat wounds and to moisten cloths and bandages.

Ingredients

One liter of the solution contains the following components: sodium chloride in an amount of 9.00 grams, sodium ions (Na+) with a concentration of 154 mmol per liter, chloride ions (Cl-) also with 154 mmol per liter.The theoretical osmolarity is 308 mosm per liter and the pH is between 5.0 and 7.0.Water, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide are used to adjust the pH value.
