General information

The isotonic sodium chloride solution 0.9% Eifelfango injection solution serves as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and compatible medications.It contains sodium chloride as an active ingredient.One milliliter of the solution contains 0.154 mmol chloride ions (Cl-) and 0.154 mmol sodium ions (Na+).

Areas of application

This solution is used as a carrier solution for various electrolyte concentrates and medications compatible with it.

Contraindications

The application is not suitable if there is an increased sodium content in the blood (hypernatremia) or an increased chloride content in the blood (hyperchloremia).

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no concerns about use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Precautions and Interactions

To date, there are no known special precautions or interactions with other products.

Type and duration of application

The solution can be injected subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously.The dosage, type of application and duration depend on the details of the respective drug that is dissolved in the isotonic sodium chloride solution.When used as a carrier solution, the instructions for use of the drug to be mixed must be observed.If you have any questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include overhydration, increased sodium and chloride levels in the blood (hypernatremia, hyperchloremia), hyperosmolarity and an acidotic metabolic state.In the event of an overdose, the supply of the solution should be interrupted, elimination via the kidneys accelerated and the supply of the corresponding electrolytes reduced.

Side effects

When used as directed, no side effects are to be expected.

Durability and storage

The medicine may no longer be used after the expiry date stated on the folding box and the ampoule.Only clear solutions in intact containers should be used.The solution must be used immediately after opening and any remaining stock must be discarded.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.

Composition

1000 ml of the solution contains 9.00 g of sodium chloride.Other ingredients include water for injections and hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment.

Dosage form and contents

The solution for injection is available in ampoules of 2 and 10 ml.Packs contain 10, 50 or 100 ampoules of 2 ml or 5, 10, 50 or 100 ampoules of 10 ml.
