The Aponorm fever thermometer easy is a precise and easy-to-use stick thermometer.It delivers a measurement result in just 60 seconds and has a fixed tip and an automatic beep.It also saves the last measurement and switches off automatically.No prescription is required for this product.

Commissioning the thermometer

To turn on the thermometer, press the power button.A long beep confirms commissioning.A display test is then carried out in which all segments should be displayed.If the ambient temperature is less than 32 °C, an "L" ("Low") and a flashing "°C" appear in the display.The thermometer is now ready for measurement.

Functional test

Every time the thermometer is switched on, it automatically carries out a function test.In the event of a malfunction, "ERR" appears on the display.In this case the device can no longer be used.Contact your pharmacy for replacement.

Service

Choose your preferred measurement method.During the measurement, the current temperature is continuously displayed and the "°C" symbol flashes.If the signal sounds and the "°C" stops flashing, the measurement is finished and the thermometer is ready to be read.By briefly pressing the on/off button, you can turn off the thermometer directly to extend battery life.Otherwise the thermometer switches off automatically after approx. 10 minutes.

Show the last reading

When turning on the thermometer, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.The last measured value is displayed together with an "M" ("Memory").

Measurement method/Normal body temperature

Under the arm (axillary): Wipe the armpit with a dry cloth and insert the thermometer with the measuring sensor as far up into the armpit as it will go.Clamp it tightly to your body with your arm.Regardless of the beep, wait at least 5 minutes.The normal values are 34.7 - 37.3 °C (adult) and 35.2 - 37.8 °C (child).

In the oral cavity (oral): Do not eat or drink anything hot or particularly cold for 10 minutes before the measurement.The mouth should remain closed for at least 2 minutes before starting a measurement.Place the thermometer with the measuring sensor in one of the two tongue pockets, directly at the root of the tongue.Press your lips together tightly and keep your mouth closed.Breathe calmly through your nose throughout the measurement.The normal values are 35.5 - 37.7 °C (adult) and 36.0 - 38.2 °C (child).

In the anus (rectal): To prevent rectal perforation in children under 3 years of age, it is recommended to use another measurement method or use a thermometer with a flexible tip.For the rectal measurement, it is best to place yourself or the patient on your back or in a side position and bend your legs.To avoid injuries, it is recommended to additionally grease the measuring tip.The measuring sensor of the thermometer is carefully inserted 2-3 cm into the rectum/anus.The normal values are 36.6 - 38.0 °C (adult) and 37.0 - 38.4 °C (child).

Cleaning and disinfection

For home disinfection, use a 70% isopropyl alcohol swab or a cotton cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol to wipe any coarse, visible surface contamination from the thermometer probe.The thermometer measuring probe should then be immersed in 70% isopropyl alcohol for at least 5 minutes (max. 24 hours).Allow the disinfectant to dry for 1 minute before next use.Avoid dipping or wiping the display to protect it from damage.
