Area of application
Vomex A® children's suppositories 70 mg forte are an anti-nausea and vomiting agent from the group of H1 antihistamines.They are used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting of various origins, especially motion sickness.The product is suitable for children and young people with a body weight of 14 kg or more.
Note: Dimenhydrinate is not suitable for the sole treatment of nausea and vomiting following drug treatment for cancer (cytostatic therapy).If you don't feel better or feel worse after 14 days, contact your doctor.

One suppository contains 70 mg of dimenhydrinate as the active ingredient and hard fat as an excipient.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to dimenhydrinate, other antihistamines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Other contraindications include acute asthma attack, glaucoma (angle-closure glaucoma), adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma), disorder of blood pigment production (porphyria), enlargement of the prostate gland (prostatic hyperplasia) with residual urine formation and seizures (epilepsy, eclampsia).
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described or exactly as discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.The dosage of dimenhydrinate should be based on the patient's body weight.For small and light children, a single dose of the lowest dosage in the relevant weight and age group can be enough to relieve the symptoms.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, daily doses of 5 milligrams per kilogram of body weight should not be exceeded.The recommended dosage should under no circumstances be increased on your own, especially in children.
The recommended dose is:
Children weighing 15 to 25 kg receive one suppository once a day.
Children weighing 25 to 40 kg receive one suppository twice daily.
Children weighing 40 kg and over and young people aged 14 and over receive a suppository 2 - 3 times a day.
In addition, the following upper limits should be adhered to:
Children aged 6 to 14 receive a maximum of 150 mg dimenhydrinate per day.
Adolescents aged 14 and over receive a maximum of 400 mg dimenhydrinate per day.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the suppositories are only intended for short-term use.If symptoms persist, you should consult a doctor.After 2 weeks of treatment at the latest, your doctor should check whether treatment is still necessary.
Intake
To prevent motion sickness, the first dose is given approx. ½ - 1 hour before the start of the journey.To treat nausea and vomiting, doses are given at regular intervals throughout the day.Suppositories should be inserted deep into the rectum.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the suppositories, if you have impaired liver function, cardiac arrhythmias (e.g. rapid heartbeat), potassium or magnesium deficiency, slow heartbeat (bradycardia), certain heart diseases (congenital QT-syndrome or other clinically significant heart damage, especially circulatory disorders of the coronary arteries, conduction disorders, arrhythmias), simultaneous use of medicines that also contain the so-called QT-Prolong the interval in EKG or lead to hypokalemia, chronic breathing difficulties and asthma, narrowing at the outlet of the stomach (pyloric stenosis).Children under 6 years.
In these cases, the suppositories may only be used after consulting a doctor.This preparation should not be used in children under 6 years of age.Lower-dose suppositories are available for this purpose.
Drowsiness, memory problems and reduced ability to concentrate can have an adverse effect on the ability to drive or work with machines.This is particularly true after insufficient sleep, when starting treatment and changing medications, and in combination with alcohol.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Pregnancy: Dimenhydrinate, the active ingredient in the suppositories, can cause premature labor.The safety of use during pregnancy has not been proven.A risk cannot be excluded for dimenhydrinate based on clinical data.You may only use the preparation after consulting your doctor and only if he or she considers it to be absolutely necessary.
Breastfeeding: Dimenhydrinate, the active ingredient in the suppositories, passes into breast milk.The safety of use during breastfeeding has not been proven.Since undesirable effects, such as increased restlessness, on the breastfed child cannot be ruled out, you should either not use the suppositories while breastfeeding or stop breastfeeding during the period of use.

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the suppository packaging and the outer carton after “Use by” or “Use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.Storage conditions: Do not store above 25 C.
How do Vomex A® children's suppositories 70 mg forte work?
