Information about Yomogi capsules for diarrhea

Yomogi capsules contain the active ingredient Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926 dry yeast.This product is available without a prescription.It is used to treat acute diarrheal illnesses, to prevent and treat traveler's diarrhea, and to treat diarrhea during tube feeding.It also supports the treatment of chronic forms of acne.

The capsules contain dry yeast from the defined strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926, also known as Saccharomyces boulardii.This yeast is contained in viable form and is effective for diarrhea and acne.

Application and dosage

Yomogi capsules are suitable for adults, teenagers and children aged 2 and over.The usual dosage to prevent traveler's diarrhea is 1-2 capsules daily, starting 5 days before departure.For acute diarrheal illnesses, 1-2 capsules daily are also recommended.To support the treatment of acne, 3 capsules should be taken daily.For diarrhea caused by tube feeding, the contents of 3 capsules are added to 1.5 liters of nutrient solution.

The hard capsules should be taken whole with sufficient liquid before meals.For children under 6 years of age, the capsule can be opened and the contents stirred into food or liquid.Treatment should be continued for a few days after symptoms have subsided.For acne, it is recommended to take it over several weeks.

Contraindications and precautions

Yomogi capsules must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to yeast or any of the other ingredients, in immunocompromised or hospitalized patients, or in patients with a central venous catheter.The medicine should not be used in infants and small children under 2 years of age.

Particular caution is required in the case of diarrhea that lasts longer than 2 days, diarrhea with blood or an increase in temperature, as well as if the acne worsens or does not improve.In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.In the case of microbiological stool examinations, the intake should be reported to the laboratory.

Side effects

Possible side effects include flatulence, itching, hives, rash, swelling of the mucous membranes, shortness of breath and allergic shock.Very rarely, fungemia or severe sepsis may occur.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be informed.

Composition

Each hard capsule contains 250 mg lyophilisate, corresponding to 221.25 mg dry yeast from Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926. Other ingredients include lactose, magnesium stearate, gelatin, purified water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, chlorophyllin-copper complex, titanium dioxide and iron oxide hydrate.

Storage

The medicine should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and kept out of the reach of children.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the folding box and container.
