Echinacea-ratiopharm Liquid alcohol-free is an oral liquid that contains the active ingredient purple coneflower pressed juice.This herbal immune stimulant is used to support the treatment of frequently recurring infections in the respiratory and urinary tract areas.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Echinacea ratiopharm is used to support the treatment of frequently recurring infections in the respiratory and urinary tracts.If symptoms of the urinary tract recur, a medical evaluation and regular medical check-ups are required.Regardless of this, if there is blood in the urine, a fever or if the symptoms persist for more than 5 days, you should consult your doctor.Infections in the upper respiratory tract require medical attention if they recur frequently, have long-lasting symptoms, are short of breath, have fever or have purulent or bloody sputum.

Contraindications

Echinacea ratiopharm must not be taken by children under one year of age because the immune system is not yet fully developed.The medicine should also not be taken if you are hypersensitive to purple coneflower, plants from the Asteraceae family or any of the other ingredients of Echinacea ratiopharm.For fundamental reasons, Echinacea ratiopharm should not be used in progressive systemic diseases such as tuberculosis, systemic diseases of the white blood cell system, autoimmune diseases, immune deficiencies, immunosuppression and chronic viral diseases.

Dosage and application

Always take Echinacea ratiopharm exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Children aged 6 - 11 years take 2 ml of liquid 3 - 4 times a day.Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults take 3 ml of liquid 3 - 4 times a day.It is taken regardless of meals.Do not take Echinacea ratiopharm continuously for more than 10 days.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Echinacea ratiopharm can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include hypersensitivity reactions such as rash, itching, shortness of breath, dizziness, drop in blood pressure, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, facial swelling, bronchospasm, asthma and anaphylactic shock.Stomach and intestinal problems such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may also occur.With long-term use, blood count changes may occur.If you notice swelling in the face, mouth and/or throat or allergic reactions in the respiratory tract, stop using Echinacea-ratiopharm and consult a doctor immediately.

Composition

The active ingredient is dried purple coneflower pressed juice.100 g of liquid contains 3.75 g of dried pressed juice from fresh, flowering purple coneflower herb.The other ingredients are potassium sorbate, citric acid and purified water.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The expiry date of this medicine is printed on the carton and bottle label.Do not use the medicine after this date.Do not store above 25°C.After opening, the medicine has a shelf life of 8 weeks.
