Instructions for use for Black Ointment 20% Lichtenstein N

Black ointment 20% Lichtenstein N contains the active ingredient ammonium bituminosulfonate, which comes from the group of sulfonated shale oils.This remedy is used to treat inflammatory skin diseases and is particularly effective for boils and festering melting processes.No prescription is required for this product.

Important notes

Black ointment 20% Lichtenstein N must not be used if you are allergic to ammonium bituminosulfonate, other sulfonated shale oil products or any of the other ingredients of the drug.The ointment should also not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Contact with eyes should be avoided.If condoms are used in the genital or anal area at the same time, the excipients they contain can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus an impairment of the safety of condoms.

Application

Apply the ointment in a thick layer to the affected area of skin and cover the treated area with a bandage.Dressings should be changed daily or every other day.The duration of use should be a maximum of 3-5 days.If you are not sure how to use the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Black Ointment 20% Lichtenstein N can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include skin irritation with itching, burning and redness.In rare cases, a contact allergy can occur.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

The active ingredient is ammonium bituminosulfonate.100 g of ointment contains 20 g of ammonium bituminosulfonate.The other ingredients are white petroleum jelly, wool wax alcohols, cetostearyl alcohol (vegetable) and purified water.Black ointment 20% Lichtenstein N looks black in a thick layer and brown in a thin layer.

Storage

Keep the ointment out of the reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the packaging.The ointment should not be stored above 25 °C and should be protected from strong temperature fluctuations.
