D-fluorettes 500 I. E. is a vitamin and mineral preparation that is used for the combined prevention of rickets and tooth decay in infants and children in the first two years of life.The tablets are intended to be made into an oral solution.

The active ingredients of D-fluorettes 500 IU are colecalciferol dry concentrate and sodium fluoride.One tablet contains 5 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate (equivalent to 500 IU vitamin D3) and 0.553 mg sodium fluoride (equivalent to 0.25 mg fluoride).The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, crospovidone type B, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, magnesium stearate, sucrose, RRR-a-tocopherol, medium chain triglycerides, arabic gum and corn starch.

Contraindications

D-Fluorettes 500 IU must not be used if your child is hypersensitive to the ingredients, has too high a calcium content in the blood, has increased calcium excretion in the urine, has limited mobility or is already getting enough fluoride from other sources.Particular caution is required in premature babies, children prone to kidney stones, sarcoidosis, treatment with thiazides or severe chronic diseases.

Dosage

From the end of the first week of life, one tablet is given daily to make up an oral solution.The tablet should be dissolved in about 2-3 tablespoons of liquid and given to the child before a meal.The duration of use is determined by the doctor.In case of overdose you should contact your doctor.No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

The tablet is allowed to disintegrate in liquid and given to the child before a meal.The solution is tasteless.

Patient information

Particular caution is required in premature babies, children prone to kidney stones, sarcoidosis, treatment with thiazides or severe chronic diseases.Infants on a balanced diet or children with metabolic disorders do not require an additional administration of D-fluorettes 500 IU. If there is already sufficient fluoride intake from other sources, no additional administration is necessary.

Other

If your diet includes milk fortified with vitamin D3, additional vitamin D3 intake may not be necessary.If the water used to prepare the infant or young child's food contains more than 0.3 mg fluoride per liter, additional fluoride intake is not necessary.When taking the medication, do not take additional fluoride or use toothpaste containing fluoride.
