Instructions for use of Abbey Japanese medicinal plant oil
Abbey Japanese medicinal plant oil contains the active ingredient mint oil.This product is available without a prescription.
Areas of application
The oil can be used internally and externally.It is used internally for flatulence, functional stomach, intestinal and bile problems as well as catarrh of the upper respiratory tract.Externally it helps with muscle pain and nerve pain-like symptoms as well as catarrh of the upper respiratory tract.
Contraindications
Abbey Japanese medicinal plant oil must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to mint oil, obstruction of the bile ducts, gallbladder inflammation and severe liver damage.If you have gallstones, you should consult a doctor before use.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Before using or taking any medication, pregnant and breastfeeding women should ask their doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Children
For infants and small children under 2 years of age, mint oil must not be used for inhalation or rubbing into the upper body and face area, especially the nose, as there is a risk of laryngeal spasm with severe breathing problems.
Interactions
So far no interactions are known.
Dosage instructions and method of application
The oil can be used by ingestion, inhalation, and rubbed into the skin.Unless otherwise prescribed, 2 drops of mint oil on sugar or in a glass of warm water are taken 1 to 3 times a day.For inhalation, 3 to 4 drops of mint oil are added to hot water.When used externally, a few drops of mint oil are rubbed into the affected areas of the skin.
Duration of application
In the case of acute symptoms that last longer than a week or that recur periodically, consultation with a doctor is recommended.
Side effects
Sensitive people may experience stomach upset and hypersensitivity reactions, including shortness of breath.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

The oil should be stored away from light and tightly closed.The expiry date is stated on the blister card and label.After the expiry date, the product may no longer be used.
