Instructions for use of Anginetten throat lozenges
Anginette throat lozenges are a throat and throat therapeutic agent that is used to support the treatment of inflammation of the throat mucosa.Typical symptoms that can be treated with this include sore throat, redness or swelling.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Each lozenge contains 0.33 mg cetylpyridinium chloride 1 H2O as active ingredient.In addition, the product contains the following excipients: glucose syrup (dry substance), sucrose, honey aroma, levomenthol, lemon aroma, quinoline yellow, Ponceau 4R, patent blue V and tartaric acid.One tablet contains 1.14 g glucose and 1.43 g sucrose, which corresponds to approximately 0.22 bread units (BE).
Areas of application
Anginette throat lozenges are used to support the treatment of inflammation of the throat mucosa.This includes inflammation of the mouth and throat, inflammation of the oral mucosa (stomatitis), inflammation of the throat (pharyngitis) and sore throats caused by colds.
Dosage and application
The lozenges are suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.Adults can suck one tablet every hour or two tablets every two hours.Children aged 6 and over should suck one tablet every two hours.The maximum daily dose is twelve tablets.The tablets should be sucked slowly or allowed to dissolve in the mouth so that they can take effect in the oral cavity.Without medical advice, the tablets should only be used for a few days.If symptoms persist for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.
Contraindications
Anginette throat lozenges must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to cetylpyridinium, Ponceau 4R (E 124) or any of the other ingredients.Infants and children under 6 years of age as well as patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases that are associated with severe hypersensitivity of the airways should also not use the product.If mucous membranes are damaged, cetylpyridinium should not be used because of possible wound healing problems.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Anginette throat lozenges can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include sensitization, hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling of the skin or mucous membranes, hives, periorbital purpura, dizziness and drop in blood pressure with shortness of breath.Ponceau 4R (E 124) can also cause a delay in wound healing, brownish discoloration of the back of the tongue and the necks of the teeth, and allergic reactions.
Storage
The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 25°C.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.It should also be protected from moisture.
