Instructions for use for Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol film-coated tablets
Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol is a mineral preparation that is used to treat magnesium deficiency states that require therapy.These deficiencies can cause neuromuscular disorders such as leg cramps.The preparation is available in the form of film-coated tablets and contains the active ingredient magnesium aspartate hydrochloride.
Active ingredient and ingredients
The active ingredient in Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol is magnesium aspartate hydrochloride 3 H2O.Each film-coated tablet contains 614.8 mg magnesium aspartate hydrochloride 3 H2O, which corresponds to a magnesium content of 2.5 mmol (60.8 mg).In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: potato starch, highly disperse silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1), talc, dimeticone and triethyl citrate.Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol is gluten-free and lactose-free.
Areas of application
Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol is used to treat magnesium deficiency states that require therapy and do not require an injection or infusion.This includes in particular proven magnesium deficiency, which is the cause of muscle activity disorders such as neuromuscular disorders and leg cramps.
Contraindications
Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to magnesium aspartate hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.The preparation should also not be used in cases of severe kidney dysfunction with impaired excretion or a lack of fluid in the body.If you have mild to moderate kidney dysfunction, caution is advised and medical advice is recommended.
Dosage and application
The dosage of Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol depends on the extent of the magnesium deficiency and is determined by the doctor.The recommended average daily dose is 0.185 mmol magnesium (4.5 mg) per kg of body weight.In chronic and severe acute magnesium deficiency conditions, the daily dose can be increased to 0.37 mmol magnesium (9 mg) per kg body weight.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It is recommended to take the preparation before meals to improve absorption into the bloodstream.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Occasionally, loose stools may occur, which are harmless.If diarrhea is disruptive, the daily dose should be reduced.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects listed seriously affects you or if you notice any side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
Storage
Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The preparation may no longer be used after the expiry date stated on the folding box and the blister pack.Magnesiocard 2.5 mmol should not be stored above 25°C.
