Instructions for use of calendula essence

Calendula essence is an anthroposophical medicine for external use for various skin diseases and wounds.The active ingredient is Calendula officinalis e floribus LA 20%.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Calendula essence is used according to the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature.This includes treating inflammation that tends to form pus and promoting wound healing.It can be used for superficial inflammations, wounds and for rinsing wound cavities and inflamed mucous membranes.

Contraindications

Calendula essence should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to calendula or other composite plants.

Precautions and warnings

If you experience severe redness, increasing pain, weeping wounds or suppuration, you should consult a doctor.Mouthwashes should only be used on children under adult supervision.The product contains 25% alcohol by volume.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Like all medicines, calendula essence should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting a doctor.

Interactions

To date, there are no known interactions with other medications.

Dosage and method of administration

The following applies to adults and children of all ages: To make poultices, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of calendula essence to about 1/4 liter of boiled water.A compress is soaked with this solution and placed on the affected skin area for about 15 minutes once or twice a day.For mouthwashes, add 1 tablespoon of calendula essence to about 1/8 liter of warm water and rinse the mouth 1 to 3 times a day for 2 to 3 minutes each.

Duration of application

If the wound does not heal significantly after a week, a doctor should be consulted.Larger wounds with poor blood circulation may require longer-term treatment.

Side effects

An allergy to calendula can occur.The frequency is not known.

10 g (10.3 ml) contains: Active ingredient: Calendula officinalis e floribus LA 20% (HAB, Vs. 12c) 10 g.Excipient: ethanol.

Storage

The medicine may be used for a maximum of 26 weeks after opening and should be stored at room temperature.
